There is a lot wrong with this lazy add copy. Stature means ONLY physical size so how can it be small only in size?
Also, fuel economy range whatsoever so you may still be filling up a lot.
But that orange color advertised is beautiful in person; the colors are easily the best thing about the Mirage.

I still really want to like the Mirage. You know, if Mitsubishi would replace the wheezy 3-cylinder with a slightly bigger 4-cylinder that made say 105-120 hp, it would be a substantially better vehicle. Even with a CVT. They could even slap a small turbo on it and sell a hot hatch version. The interior does feel a bit cheap, but it would be way more forgivable if it were fun to drive.

I still like it too, from a distance.
Wi th slightly more horsepower and wider tires (not bigger, wider) you could have quite a lot of fun in one.

Stature doesn’t just mean physical size.

Correct, stature is only one dimension of overall size . So they’re basically saying that it’s tall.

I test drove one with a manual, and it’s just too slow. It wouldn’t take much to fix that. I just couldn’t see getting one when the Fiat 500 exists. Mine was a hoot to drive and I never had any mechanical issues with it.

Or they are using the second definition of stature to (wrongfully) imply that the Mirage has a large quality or status while also being a physically small car.

Granted, but I still don't think it has any of those. The add copy is still as lazy as the car's acceleration.

The 500 only has 2 doors. The Mirage has 4 doors
It would be nice if the
Mirage was available with a sunroof tho

The Mirage comes in some cool colors, but sadly no more pink
They need to offer a sunroof on it. Maybe also a high-performance turbo VR-4 with AWD and 150 hp. Also, the car is overpriced by at least $3000
Nissan needs to sell the Micra down here

Exactly exactly this. The Mirage with all its issues would be a strong buy around 10
k msrp.
I drove a rental one the other week with the cvt. It was interesting how geared it sounded. It’s a basic little car in a lot of ways and I really like it as such. I could drive it right out at its limits and never exceed the speed limit.
The Micra is a sad case. Nissan will never give it to us in the US since it'd decimate Versa sales.

Nissan actually dropped the Versa Note hatchback for the US, which leaves room for the Micra
Also, if Nissan dropped the Versa sedan and sold the MNicra here, they would actually save money because it’s cheaper to make one
car than three.

I wish they’d see it that way. If they didn’t want to do that they could introduce the Dacia lineup to the US. I’d personally want to consider the Sandero for less tha n 10k, but I think what would interest most people is the Duster SUV for the equivalent of 12.8k usd..

It's a fairly common phrase, actually. Generally used to praise short people in a mildly ribbing tone.

I honestly like the facelift they’re planning for the Mirage. Defo needs a more gutsy motor, though.

Down here in Oz, the Mirage has lost the city car market to the Kia Picanto. Even the new updated version won’t be much good against the Picanto as it will still have the same driveline.
And Picanto is offered down here with two different engines and three suspension tunes...
This is the GT version with lowered suspension, manual transmission and a 3 cylinder 1 litre turbo engine that’s good for 72 kW and 172 Nm . Equivalent of just under US$13,000 on the road down here.
The base version with the manual version is the equivalent of US$11,800 drive away...and it is quite a hoot, all things considered. After all, despite being 30 kgs lighter than the GT, it gives away 10 kW and 50 Nm in the engine.

Wow, that sounds pretty good. Kia probably doesn't want to tarnish the brand image here that they are building by bringing it here. Small cars are looked down on for some reason.
